We are just handful days away from the biggest festival of Indian cricket of every calendar year. It’s the time when if you walk through the streets or the fields, you will find people discussing about their favourite teams, its weakness & strongzones. The morning walk or a evening stroll and the gossips of the young generation in the tea-stalls besides the streets also go on about most on the IPL teams and their players. The social platforms also become a little more active about the game.
But this year IPL brings another type of joy and excitement because of the current pandemic situation of the world. Obiously, we have already seen the cricket making small steps, but it’s been long long time since we had witnessed our Indian players in action. And this tournament is the golden oppurtunity for all of us to get that flavour back.

So, let’s take a look at where the team stands on paper and which team will enjoy a upper hand going into the tournament which has been shifted to the spin-friendly conditions of UAE. One thing what’s crystal clear about this year's IPL is that players after coming from such a long lay-off and playing in the heat of UAE will test how fit they are physically and mentally. Also, pitches will be tired going into the tournament as there will be so many back to back games and the cutors may not have enough time to prepare pitches.
The IPL 2020 Schedule, which has been published couple of nights ago, tells us that almost half of the games (24) will be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Sharjah. BCCI have done a terrific job in making the fixtures as they have tried their level best to give the teams best chance of getting home advantage. Teams like Mumbai Indians and Kolkatta Knight Riders will play 8 games in Abu Dhabi, which closely is like their home grounds. On the other hand, Dubai, which generally suits spin will see CSK & DC playing their 8 games. Also, playing in the same ground will reduce the travel activity of the players.

Now let’s take a look at the which team will be suitable in those 3 grounds.
ABU DHABI :
In 44 T-20 games in Abu Dhabi, teams with batting first has won 19 games whereas teams who bowl first have come on top in 25 games. The fist innings average score (137) is almost equal to the second innings score (128). As KKR and MI will be playing most of the games in the ground, they will surely want to win minimum 6 games here. But both the teams lack quality spinners. KKR though have Narine, Kuldeep, Tambe and Cris Green, Mumbai have Jayant Yadav, Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar and Anukul Roy.
DUBAI :
Dubai is the ground which is spin friendly. Teams batting first have 54% win record whereas teams who bowl first have a win percentage of 44%. The first innings score is 155 whereas the second innings score is slightly over 140. As CSK and DC will enjoy the conditions as they have batsman who plays sipn well and have so many spinners in their sqaud.
SHARJAH :
Sharjah is smaller comparing to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The ground has winning records of 51% for batting first and 45% for batting second. The average score is 150 which again shows that this IPL is all about low scoring games and sharp minded tactics.
But, RCB, who generally don’t produce good death bowling again need to come with good gameplans in this year’s IPL also. To be very honest, Mumbai indians looks the best side in this years tournament again. They have best openers with Rohit Sharma, De Kock, Ishan Kishan with Sky, Hardik, Krunal, Pollard to follow, best death bowlers. It’s like a problem of plenty to have. Chennai also have have a spin academy. But the omision of Raina and Harbhajan will surely do some damage in their process. Delhi also looks in a great shape for being the tittle holder. RR will miss Rahane and KXIP will miss Ashwin in the team. Sunrishers Hyderabad will be looking to get the four best foreiners as they have plenty but they would like to have one more spinner in their team.
