It’s not the usual time to bring the festive mood in sports in India, but one shouldn't have any question against the plans of BCCI in these tough circumstances. Thinking about the Indian Premier League (IPL) couple of months back during the pandemic situation would be the most foolish work. The sharp execution of organizing the IPL behind the close doors in UAE has surely brought some smile and joy in the faces of sports-lover not only in India but all over the world. The players are also in the same zone of getting back to their normal bussiness.
IPL is more essential for all the Ms Dhoni fans as they will witness their hero in action after almost 435 odd days (hopefully if no injuries) and also after what he did in the evening of 15th August. It will be interesting to see the players who will hit the ground running hard after coming from such a long layoff. The sudden COVID blow may delay the IPL schedule but later it comes telling us that the defending champions, Mumbai Indians will take on the 3-time champions Chennai Super Kings. Let’s make the teams ideal playing elevens and predict the champions, the orange and purple cap winner.
Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians:
It’s not the old Indo-Pak rivalry or the Ashes ( Eng-Aus), but it’s the new rivalry between two successful franchises, MI & CSK. The whistle podu army will take on the MI paltans of the league. Already, the yellow-army has suffered a blow of not getting Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh, the two most important players of their lineup. On the other hand Mumbai will miss the survice of veteran T-20 bowler, Lashith Malinga. But we all can hope to see a edge of seat clash between them like 2018 season.
CSK Ideal Playing XI : Shane Watson(✈️), Murli Vijay, Ambati Rayudu, Faf Du Plesis(✈️), Ms Dhoni(c)(wk),Dwayne Bravo(✈️), Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir(✈️).
MI Ideal Plying XI : Rohit Sharma(c), Quinton de Kock (wk)(✈️), Suriya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard(✈️), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Nathan-Coulter-Nile(✈️), Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, Mitchell McClenaghan/Trent Boult(✈️).
Delhi Capitals vs Kings XI Punjab :
Sunday will see Delhi and Punjab face off. The two most balanced side will take on each other. Ashwin will play against his former team which he led last year. KL Rahul will look to change the fortunes of his side this year by producing some excellent performances with the stick in hand and captaincy cap on head. Delhi is the team which can go with less then their full quota of overseas players and may need to take some tough decisions. Punjab will wish that Maxwell have another fruitful year in UAE like 2014.
DC Ideal Playing XI : Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer(c), Rishav Pant(wk), Shimran Hetmyer(✈️), Marcus Stoinis(✈️), Ravichandan Ashwin, Sandeep Lamichane(✈️), Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Kagiso Rabada(✈️).
KXIP Ideal Playing XI : Crish Gayle(✈️), KL Rahul(c)(wk), Mayank Agarwal, Glen Maxwell(✈️), Nicolas Pooran(o✈️, Sarfaraz Khan, Krishnappa Goutam, Ravi Bishnoi, Ishan Porel, Mohammad Shami, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman(✈️).
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore :
It’s the battle between two fires. SRH will look to do what they do every year with their superb batting and bowling; on the other hand RCB will look to make 2020 their year with making proper plans for death overs. Warner and VVS Laxman will look to play their best lineup as they have a good headache of having plenty of players.
SRH Ideal Playing XI : David Warner(✈️)(c), Jonny Bairstow(wk)/ Kane Williamson(✈️), Manish Pandey, Virat Singh, Wriddhiman Saha, Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi/Mitchell marsh/Fabien Allen(✈️), Rashid Khan(✈️), Bhuveneshwar Kumar, Siddharth KAul, Shahbaz Nadeem.
RCB Ideal Playing XI : Aaron Finch(✈️), Devdat Padikkal, Virat Kohli(c), Ab de villers(✈️), Parthiv Patel (wk), Moeen Ali(✈️), Pawan Negi, Dale Styen(✈️), Yuzevandra Chyahal, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini.
Rajasthan Royals :
This is the only team with SRH who will be led by a foreign skipper, Steve Smith. Jos Buttler’s form and Smith’s steability in the middle order will surely help them. Not sure will they get Ben Stokes available now, if they get then the team will depend mostly on their overseas players.
Their ideal playing XI will be : Jos Buttler(✈️)(wk), Yaishwavi Jaishwal, Robin Uthappa, Steve Smith(c)(✈️), Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes/David Miller(✈️), Riyan Parag, Shreyas Gopal, Mayank Markhande, Jofra Archer/ Andrew Tye(✈️), Jaydev Unadkat.
Kolkatta Knight Riders :
Dinesh Karthik and his troops have a great chance to lift the trophy since 2014. They had the fire power and a sensible spin department. Ali Khan’s inclusion in place of Harry Gurney may come as a surprise package of this year’s IPL. It’s “Korbo Lorbo Jitbo Re”
Their Ideal Playing XI : Sunil Narine(✈️), Shubnam Gill, Nitish Rana, Andre Russel(✈️), Eoin Morgan(✈️), Dinesh Karthik(c)(wk), Rinku Singh, Pat Cummins(✈️), Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Shivam Mavi.
